Speaking - Students did the exercises on pages 62 and 63 and carried out the speaking tasks after studying the notes on speaking part 3 on page 177.Teacher gave feedback on their performances.
Use of English - Students practised Use of English part 5 with exercises that focused on comparative structures, idiomatic expressions, phrasal verbs and formal stuctures including conditionals.
Students did a Use of English part 1 exercise based on an article about Lance Armstrong. They discussed the content of the article and did a timed writing exercise on the subject of cheating in sport.
Speaking - students discussed leisure activities in small groups and reported their findings.
